Six West - Brunch club

Round the corner from where I get my Christmas tree... where I had my 'knicker' incident last week! EEK! There's a smashing little cafe called Six West, in Terenure Village.... being that it's in Dublin 6 west... you get the idea...

This place is fab... it's a perfect little cafe... in the sense of this is a cafffff... like on eastenders... there's nothing pretentious about it... when you walk in, its bright, breezy and the place smells delicious... The seats are comfy and the staff are so friendly and helpful... even with the hungover types!

Their breakfast menu is served all say so no matter WHAT time you roll out with your hangover you'll get a rasher... heaven!

The menu has all the usual suspects on it...

and just take a moment to check out the rainbow in the garden...
seriously on a sunny day how much would this rock!

The orange juice is freshly squeezed and icy cold... perfect if you're a bit 'delicate'

and the coffee - delicious!

The 'full Irish' was, and I quote, 'only massive' ...

and the eggs benedict were perfick...

passing the 'Skinny-Dolls-Melty-Egg' test with flying colours!

Specials board for lunch ...

I spotted the toffee cheesecake and I might have to make an 'emergency' visit
to Terenure over Christmas!

Something I love, is being able to see the chefs in the kitchen,
and it's all open plan so you can spot when your brekkie is on its way...
and also spot other peoples meals..

I'm a bit of a rubbernecker when it comes to plates passing me in a restaurant!

We were there quite early on a Sunday and it was buzzing!

For takeaways...

It's a lovely little spot if you're in Dublin 6W, passing through
or heading to the Sunday Market in Terenure!

Stocking fillers... part 1...

It's coming.. 5-ish weeks... and for most of us it's time to get the stocking fillers, Secrets Santas and Kris Kindle gifts...  so there'll be a couple of Stocking filler posts over the next few weeks for things that I spot out there on my travels that might hit the mark for someone you love ...  here's a few bits I spotted in 'HomeStore and More' the other day...

So we're not all Paul Hottywood in the kitchen, and personally I use the 'freestyle' kind of butter icing because I just get mad trying to smooth it out and YES I buy my fondant Mary Berry! (clearly she reads my blog!) But for the Christmas Season, you can make your bakes VERY festive with a bit of "cheating"... HomeStore & More have got some very cute cupcake cases and sugar craft decorations for the bakers in your life...

Santa and his elves cupcake cases... This box has Santas leg stuck out of the chimney! Bake your cupcakes in plain cases and then place them in these once they've cooled down of just use a plain one inside the fancy case when your baking! I find you lose they lose their colour if you don't... €5.00

These Rudolph cases are super cute! Again €5.00, great if you know someone who is really into baking or just to jazz up your Christmas Cupcakes for Santa!

Ready made little gingerbread men with teeny tiny jellies...

And festive cookie cutters which double up as fancy and useful Christmas labels/tags,
when you're wrapping pressies for the chefs in your life...

Three styles available, Christmas Trees, Snow and Gingerbread Men for €1.99!

So good they'll look like you did them yourself... I'll tell no one! €3.99

Poinsettias ... €3.99

Candy Canes and mittens... €3.99

Christmas trees for €3.99...
they came out very dark in my pic for some reason, they're actually much more green...

Yes... yes it is a Santa toilet seat cover... I know...
show this bad boy to the OCD Cleaners on Channel 4! eek! €3.99

And every girl should have one "Ring for a Xmas kiss" bell... €1.99
I can see a lot of these being abused in town over the next few weeks!

I couldn't resist.. and at least someone thinks I'm gorgeous in the morning...
and believe me most mornings it's not pretty, plus they're MASSIVE mugs for €4.99

So cute and SO FLUFFY and so festive! Comes in saucy black too!  €8.99

last up... the cutest mini flasks I've seen for a long time,
and perfect for bringing your soup to work!  €4.99

Two Fifty Square - Brunch Club

A sneaky little find for Brunch Club this week... Two Fifty Square is just beside the swimming pool in Rathmines... and if you're a coffee junkie... I was last week I swear! Then you'll LOVE this little spot!

The brunch menu has the usual suspects, no 'full irish'
but there's a fab list of sandwiches and toasties to choose from!

... as well as cakes and goodies up at the counter to swoon over...

Loads of space and it's got fab natural light pouring in so you can read the paper without a  torch... Does anyone else think some coffee shops are a bit too dark!? Just me... I'll be moaning about the young people next!

Now... for the connoisseurs... Proper coffee... roasted, ground and smelling SO good..

and yes ... it was delicious...

*chants*
... 10 and a half days ... 10 and a half days...
NO! I'm loving my detox I SWEAR!

But it's one of the nicest coffees I'd had in a long time!

All the goodies you need to roast up a fine bag of caffeine goodness!

Now to the food...

I went for the 'eggs which ever way you fancy with avocado on sour dough bread' ... and not being an avocado fan I treated myself to some bacon! WHAT ?! I'd been swimming!

Bacon was crispy but not dry ... in other words perfect...

and they passed my 'melty-egg' test with flying colours!

For the heathens that drink tea... you'll be catered for... but I'll judge you... no... I will...

Up at the counter you're free to drool, swoon and indulge in all kinds of goodies...

The wifi code... you don't need to ask ...
it's what every cafe should have for their customers!

and ta da... open Sundays!

There's an outside space for the smokers/hardy folk! It's November people!

The mural outside by Anna Doran >>>  http://www.annadoranart.com
was too cute not to include!
