Stir Fry Paste from DeSiam!

Spotted these little beauties hiding in my local Supervalu! Full of flavour and SO low in PP... most of the time making a stir fry is the easiest thing ever but chopping and grating ginger when you just want to eat can be a right pain! These pastes from DeSiam are very low and FULL of flavour! Worth having in your cupboard if you're a big fan of Asian flavours...

DeSiam Ginger Stir-Fry paste - 1 PP per 15g sachet

DeSiam Lemongrass Stir-Fry paste - 0 PP per 15g sachet

Curry in a hurry!

A quick recipe as requested by some of my instagram followers after last nights 'curry in a hurry' pic ...

I came home quite late and was STARVING... I mean 'call Bob Geldof..' kinda hungry... My bread was in the freezer because I can't be trusted with the toaster whilst I loiter in the kitchen... so after a large glass of water... I stood at the fridge and thought right... curry!

I had plenty in the fridge to make enough for two nights, so the total Propoints of the recipe is 14PP, which I just ate without carbs on the first night cause it was too late... but you'd have to ProPoint your rice or nan breads... which is 1PP per 30g ... weigh it out!

What in it?!

2 Chicken breasts - 8PP
2 Knorr Curry Flavour pots - 1PP
100g of Half fat Creme Fraiche - 5PP
You could also use natural yoghurt but you'll need to ProPoint individual brands...

and the ZERO HEROS
Red Peppers
Onion
Mushrooms
Sweet Peppers
Chilli Salt
Curry Powder
Left over cherry tomatoes...

How?

Chop the chicken, smaller the better it will cook faster, spray your pan and cook it through... do this first whilst you're chopping the veggies...

Throw the onions in first... they take a few mins longer to soften, then add the rest... feel free to use any veggies you like... I had a few baby tomatoes left over, it bulks up it up... Now to season, I add these all pretty much one after the other and mix it all well...  first up, Simplee Chilli Sea Salt for a bit of heat...

A tablespoon of curry powder... this is all down to personal preference... I don't like my curries too hot, so the 'Medium' version from Sharwoods is perfick for me!

then I add a Knorr Flavour pot... these add LOADS of flavour without all the points!

They look like this...

To that I add 100g of Half Fat Creme Fraiche from Tesco... for the PP of other brands check  >>> HERE <<< but this one is really nice and just adds that creaminess that you want from a curry... and leave it simmer for a few minutes so all the favours infuse...

Get your bowl ready... grab a fork... divide it in two and inhale... it's all very quick once you've got your chicken cooked through...

Anyone got any twists they add?

Enjoy x

Infuse your food...

Adding a different flavour to just one dish can make all the difference... It's easy to get bored when you're eating the same thing all the time... roll up flavoured spray oils...

There's 15 sprays per PP (feel free to correct me but 15 sprays is approx 1 teaspoon of oil and that's 1PP) but you won't use that many with either of these brands! So they will last you ages...

For stir fries or salad dressings these are the business... I'm going to try a garlic bread at the weekend using it...I'll pop up a post to let you know how I get on!

These are from Lidl... Garlic, Basil and Chilli

The 'Fry light Infuse - 1 cal' garlic and chilli,
are in Supervalu, Tesco and Dunnes...
oh and the bottles are smaller than the standard Fry light...

Banana pancakes...

Relax it's not pancake day just yet... although it seems like the year is flying by already!

These are everywhere at the moment so I thought I'd give them a try... and yes banana pancakes are YUM! Mine work out at 2PP... 3PP with the yoghurt... and SO easy!

I use 2 small bananas, I buy the kids size ones so I don't overdose on them!
1 whole egg and 1 egg white
Spray oil for the frying...

Pop everything into your blender/mixer ...

at this point you can add other ingredients to vary it a little, peanut butter,
blueberries, nutella (my next batch!) chocolate shot or
just use tablespoon of cocoa powder whatever takes your fancy...
just remember to point the extra bits if you have to!

Whizz it all up and done...

Spray your pan and...

get ready to spoon it on...

I kept mine small because I eat with my eyes and my mixture got me 16 baby pancakes!
So it looks like LOADS on the plate... I KNOW!

Flip and brown on both sides and you're done in a couple of minutes...

Great for breakfast or a quick lunch and if wanted to get all fancy a bit of icing sugar would get them looking all 'bake off!'

Sober Supper Club

Slight change of course for Brunch Club BUT it's all for a a good cause...

Sober Supper Club in Sober Lane in D4, every Wednesday for the month of Movember, is donating all it's taking to the marvellous moustache cause! So NO excuse if you're in the area not to pop in and don a 'tashce for the craic and get fed for a good cause...

3 courses for €20! I mean seriously... bargain or wha?!?

The fun stuff... you get games, markers, pencils... fake tattoos...
it's just a bit of a giggle whilst you have your dinner in a pretty cool spot!
If there's a gang of you ALL the better!

It's all about having a bit of craic and channelling your inner child who
always wanted to write on the walls! LOL

Photographic proof that I sometimes win at board games! woo hoo!

AND lollies!

It's the kinda place that would be perfect for a first date...
not too 'rose-mantic' plenty of excellent music ...
so if it goes horribly wrong it's attached to an excellent pub!

I heard Carribean Queen on the way back from the loo and nearly busted a move...

teeny tiny 'tasche tattoos... too CUTE!!!

Well hung beef... tee hee....

But enough about the awesome decor, just know that it's quirky and cool...
now to the food...

Feta Salad... great portion... lovely dressing
and if you're a rocket fan *raises paw* you'll lick the plate clean!

The steak? Perfick... and remember €20!

A good portion of skinny chips ...

And the icing on the steak... their own steak sauce...
not too fiery and a little fruity... DELICIOUS!

Dessert was homemade banoffee sundae ... now I'm not a big dessert fan ...

But CLEARLY I tried my best... It was super! Plates licked clean!

That. Is. All!

Follow the hashtag #misstache and #movember to see more silliness!

And do your bit for Movember... sponsor someone growing a ronnie or donate >>> HERE <<< if you can or just check all your menfolk are checking themselves! Who'd kill all the spiders without them eh?! x

Mr. Good's!

I've only spotted these recently in my local Tesco and if you're a fish lover, you're gonna love these... You can microwave them when you're falling in the door hungry after work and the portion sizes are perfect... The garlic and herb version is only 4PP for the WHOLE pack and it's my personal fav! No complaints with the cajun one either!

2PP per 120g fillet
Honestly good enough to spend 4PP on for dinner
and have the wholes packet with loads of veggies!

6PP per 120g fillet
(it's salmon hence the higher ProPoint value but it's got all the good oils!)
