Peace Pops!

Summers coming, YAY... and whilst we're all still here, we can pretend we're away in our deck chairs in the garden eating ice pops! Ben and his buddy Jerry are all over this... Cookie Dough Peace Pops are the latest addition to their freezer stash! I haven't tried one but it's on my radar!!! I picked up the box in Tesco to check the SPs and it was surprisingly small for 3 ice creams! Anyone tried them yet? Spill! x

Coconut Milk Ice desserts - Lidl

I'm still clinging onto summer for dear life, I know who am I kidding... this time of year is when I really need to be as upbeat as I can and make sure I'm getting out and about... I spotted these in Lidl and bought the coconut one for my mum & dad so I got to try one without being stuck with the box of 'em... YUM! Really creamy and coconutty (that's a word right?!) Vegan too! I think there was 6 in the box in total... it's a yes from me! Anyone tried the choccie one? x

Free From Ice Lollies - Dunnes

It's easy to get sucked into the 'free from' = better for you marketing... These 'choc ices' from Dunnes are loaded with sugar, so one to watch when you're looking at the 'healthy' ranges in supermarkets... I know there's people who can only eat these and it's great that there's a selection out there now but for people like me who can get suckered into buying stuff, it's one to watch!

OPPO!

One for the ice cream lovers! Oppo is a UK brand that is stocked in most SuperValus and Dunnes stores, (check the store find on their website, if it's not ask the manager to get it in for you!)

I purchased the salted caramel version a while ago (pic 1) when I had guests, thinking jelly and ice cream would rock dessert (it did!) ... The SmartPoints came in at 100ml - 4SP and 500ml - 18SP for the full tub.

However, when I double checked the nutritional info on their website (I check everything twice just to be extra sure!) the same flavour (in a snazzy new pack! pic 2!) came in at a SP lower and we all know how important that extra SP can be in a day!

So, I contacted them with my query and the product in the snazzy new packaging (pic 2) is a revised recipe, so if you're picking up a pot go for the new packaging and add that SP to you gin quota!

You. Are. Welcome!

Nobó!

You all know how I champion Irish companies... well the latest is Nobó... which FYI means 'no cow' in Irish... No Bó... meaning dairy free... people who make dairy free ice cream are a girls best friend right?!? I spotted these in my local Supervalu and I've tried the vanilla & coconut one... I may have to write a 'Dear John' letter to my pals Ben and Jerry... it is lovely and one to definitely have in the freezer over the coming summer months...

So... whaddya mean 'dairy free'?! Well it's made with coconut milk, avocado, water and sweetened with honey so you've still got the creamy ice cream texture but dairy free.. they'd be great in smoothies too!

There are 5 in the range but I could only get my paws on these three in my local Supervalu ... but there's a Passion Fruit & Mango and a Salted Caramel version out there somewhere which is one DEFINITELY going on my wish list... These work out at 5PP per 100ml... the full PP per 500ml vary x

Nobó Vanilla and Coconut Flavour
5PP per 100g
26PP per 500ml

Nobó Chocolate and Toasted Almond Flavour
5PP per 100ml
27PP per 500ml

Nobó Fresh Lemon Flavour
5PP per 100ml
23PP per 500ml

I'll keep you posted on the 'salted caramel' situation!

Brunch... Mani Monday

Keeping with the ice-cream theme of late... BRUNCH! A oldie but a goodie.. 6PP for the foodies...

Dotting tool is clearly back on the scene...

From the left...

Easy to do because the dots are pretty random, so you can just wing it like me!

Happy Bank Holiday xxx

PUT. THEM. BACK!

They are teeny tiny... you'd think you could get 3 for a single point they're THAT small...  I actually dropped these back in the freezer when I worked the Pro Points out!

2PP (TWO!) per teeny tiny cone! Hoovered in one mouthful!

Same as the Crunchie ones... 2PP per cone...

'Try me frozen' it said... so I did! You know what... they're actually rather nice... These little cake rolls were out in Mint & caramel flavour last year and Dealz were doing them for the fabliss €1.49... lots of chewing in them from the freezer (not as good as your Curly Wurly though but safer on the teeth...)

3PP per roll... MUCH better than the teeny tiny deceptive sneaky little cones...

hello summer..... um....

Probably the coldest wettest day in May ever to be posting this but you'll be prepared for when the heatwave gets here next week yeah?!? *crosses fingers, toes and eyes!*

Now for a little diet maths... I like you all to get more food for your ProPoints!

The Skinny Cow... no relation... is stocked in the bigger Supervalus and in some Tescos... there's three in a box and are 2 PP ... and honestly... they are streets ahead of the mini magnums... even the WW ones which at 3PP are just the same as the 'real' mini magnums... twice the ice cream for a ProPoint less!

The REAL mini magnums come in at 5 PP for the classic, almond and white... But it's only 7 PP for the classic full size magnum, 8 PP for the full size almond and 7 PP for the full size white! See where I'm going with this...

Magnum 'temptation' chocolate is 6 PP... 'Temptation' caramel & almond is 7pp...

Top of the magnums is the 'Double caramel' at 10 PP !

and the celebratory 25 year Magnum Marc De Champagne is 7 PP

Now if someone could sort out the weather... sigh...

Ice cream you scream...

It's coming.. they keep telling us... Summer is on the way... These pots from Supervalu are your Ben & Jerry size of 500ml... there is 5 'portions' in each ... or so they think.. each 100ml is 5PP now I've only tasted the rocky road which I brought to someone elses house to get it out of mine... but it was VERY nice...

The 'Lemon Crunch', 'Caramel Biscuit' and 'Rocky Road' are all 25PP per tub (or 5PP per portion as recommend on the pack) ... the 'Cookies & Cream' 20PP If you're an ice cream lover they are nice and you could spend some of your weeklies on it... or if try out the 'banana ice cream' for 0 PP (not a typo! ZERO!) >>> HERE <<<

It's getting hot in here....

Currently in Chateau Doll...

I've done many posts on here about the joys of ice cream... in fact one of my more popular posts is with my two favourite boys... Ben & Jerry! But its hot.. and its probably the only summer we're gonna get.. I say indulge in your fav and get right on over your self.. The selection for low Pro Pointed ice creams is great.. and ice lollys are generally lower than ice creams... Sure it'll be winter by the middle of next week.. enjoy the sun dolls and don't forget your suncream!

Already listed under Wheat & dairy >>>>
but here's a reminder..
