If you like Pina coladas...

Admit it you sang that didn't you? Every now and then products come out and I see them knowing they'll be high in sugar so I know they're just not for me... Since my love of gin has grown over the years, pina coladas are relegated to the holidays of my 20s when I thought I was ever SO sophisticated! God bless me but I do still love the taste of them unlike many of the drinks from my youth... so this limited edition intrigued me! Brace yourselves... the 450g tub is 25SP now think of your Greek yoghurt and the skinny syrups you can lash into it! I'm not saying don't eat it but normally I wouldn't even bother pointed things like this for myself but curiosity got the better of me... 100g - 5SP

Light yoghurt... from Glenilen Farm...

So you all know I'm a fan of yoghurt in all it's forms... and a couple of weeks ago I did a post on Glenilen and their lovely dessert range! >>> HERE <<<

Well, I mentioned they have a range of 'light' yoghurt out, which are just the thing for the coming summer months! Try making Eton Mess with the strawberry one, you'll think you're Nigella!

There are four flavours in the range, all come in 450g pots...
Blueberry - 8PP
Strawberry - 8PP
Natural - 6PP
and
Rhubarb - 8PP

Glenilen Farm 'light' strawberry 450g pot - 8PP

To spread the love they've given me the cutest recipe stand to giveaway to one of you lovely lot! I mean look at it! TOO cute!

All you have to do is comment below with the answer to the following question... If you can't comment on here... head this post on the FB page >>> HERE <<< and I'll catch them!

How many ProPoints are there in the
450g pot of Glenilen Farm 'light' strawberry yoghurt?

Hint - it's the number between 7 and 9!

and share a recipe idea! How would you use Glenilen Light Yoghurt in your kitchen?

Names will be in a hat (sorry I'm old school when it comes to raffles!)
by Sunday 19th at 7pm and I'll post the winner on here and over on FB!

We are not a-Müesli'd …

See what I did there… I'll get my coat…

Two new products that are sounding like they're good for you and if you're a musli fan you'll probably love em… BUT… These pots are small for a breakfast that's suppose to get you through till lunch time… I was never a musli fan… too much like looking into a birds nest.. and, like most of us, I eat with my eyes…

I'm a big fan of Onken yoghurt too as you'll know from this post >>> HERE <<<  but 6PP for the pot does not compare to porridge with a banana and a large coffee with skinny milk which will keep you going till lunch with some fruit and a yoghurt if you get peckish…

and the second product Nusli is irish made… again full of goodness from the packaging and its smaller than the Onken version for 7 PP … If you love musli and you miss it, this might fill the void but if you're looking for a breakfast to take you through the day, these are for you…

Small pot big pro points… 6PP for the pot!

 6PP for 200g

 6PP for 200g

7PP for 180g!

Full of goodness… and Irish made…

BARGAIN!

Ok before the grammar cops weigh in… I spell yoghurt with a 'h' and I'm not ashamed! So Onken Yogurts are todays find! These are 'only bleedin' lovely' as they say in my neck of the woods! This week they are €1 for 450g tub in Dunnes so a bargain to boot… The best 'Best Before' date I could find was the 18th of March.. yes I'm the person rooting round the back of the yoghurts for the ones that'll last longest… I have no shame it appears!

If you're a yoghurt fan you'll love these… the mango one is sooooo yummy! But the 'Fat Free Natural Yogurt' is probably the hero here if, like me, you use yoghurt in smoothies and curries alike… Add a little cinnamon, honey or sweetener to a meringue and you've got a fab dessert, spoon some into your butternut squash soup and it'll make it that little bit creamier… a couple of tablespoons will change your curry! and for €1.00 a tub you can't go wrong!

The tub is 450g, they state a serving is 150g (so 3 servings per pot) which is a lot if, like me, you just spoon some over fruit or porridge, so I've given the breakdown for the whole tub as well… write it off your points for the week…

Fat Free Strawberry 450g - 9 PP, 150g - 3 PP, 100g - 2 pp

Fat Free Blueberry & Elderberry 450g - 9 PP, 150g - 3 PP, 100g - 2 PP

Mango, Papaya & Passionfruit 450g - 12 PP, 150g - 4 PP, 100g - 3 PP

Peach Wholegrain 450g - 13 PP, 150g - 4 PP, 100g - 3 PP

Fat Free Raspberry & Honey 450g - 9 PP, 150g - 3 PP, 100g - 2 PP

Fat Free Vanilla 450g - 8 PP, 150g - 3 PP, 100g - 2 PP

Natural Set 450g - 8 PP, 150g - 3 PP, 100g - 2 PP

Fat Free Natural Yoghurt 450g - 4 PP, 150g - 1 PP, 100g - 1 PP

PS: Thinking of doing another challenge.. anyone interested?!

This one JUST right…

"Ahhh, this porridge is just right,"

Goldilocks

Fed up of porridge yet? Well I spotted this way of making porridge on Instagram last summer, and loved it… it was only last week my leader reminded me when  she told us she eats her porridge like this with yoghurt and fruit! if you fancy a change and want to feel full … give it a go… plus if you get yourself a fancy jar you can make enough for two days and it'll keep in the fridge… oh and you don't need to use natural yoghurt if you don't like it… try something fruity!

30g/40g of porridge - 3/4PP
3/4 tbsp of fat free natural yoghurt - 2PP
Fruit - 0PP
A big spoon!

Wash your fruit….

layer it in the jar with yoghurt and porridge …

Repeat the layers until you've used up everything …

Seal it and pop it into the fridge overnight …

Et voila.. breakfast is ready when you get up!!!

Don't knock it till you've tried it… and mix it up with different fruits and yoghurts to get a bit of variety… you'll be full till lunch!

Dolls Lethal (and 'not-so-lethal') Lollys!

So... I recently attended the launch of the Blog Ireland Awards in the Glenisk Pop Up shop in town... and they sent me home with a lil goodie bag full of fab yoghurts ... So I've decided to enter their recipe competition... I've also been dying to make my own version of these for aaagggeeeesssss... without further ado... may I introduce...

Dolls' Lethal (and 'not-so-lethal!') Yoghurt Popsicles!

There is really three recipes in one... and since berries are well and truly in season now, these are SO easy to make and have fun with... the 'not-so-lethal' popsicles are 2pp each except the one with the added chocolate, but you knew that... The shot glass versions are 1pp each! yay! ... so first up ...

The Not-So-Lethal Lollys...

I need what now?

3 cups of Glenisk low fat organic natural yoghurt
1/2 cup of raspberries
1/2 cup of blueberries
1/2 cup of blackberries
2 tbsp of honey
drizzle of balsamic vinegar
1tsp lime juice
handful of oats - I used Dorset Cereals, luscious berries and cherries... lots of dried fruit to add texture and sweetness!

Yeah, but how do I...?

Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit... Line a tray with baking paper... in a bowl, gently toss berries with the balsamic vinegar and honey. Pour the berries onto the prepared baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes, stirring halfway, or long enough for the berry juices to thicken... this makes the berries VERY sweet...

YES... I'm the person who steals mini honey pots from hotels!

ready to go into the oven...

The berries will get super sweet once they're roasted so if you want
your lollys more tart add the lime juice at the next stage...

Blitz in your processor...

Add your Glenisk Organic Greek Style Natural Yoghurt...

Add dried fruit and oats for texture - remember these are the 'Not-so-lethal' ones!

Fold together.. this will give it a marbled effect...

pour into moulds and freeze for approx 4 hours!

aaaaaaannnnnnddddddd......
TA DA!!!

Top: Blueberry popsicles
Bottom: Blueberry Crunchicles (with the fancy oats!)

For a naughty twist... melt some dark chocolate I used ...

for the full berry experience ...
soooooooo good!

now... time for the grown-up version...

The LETHAL Lollys!

I need what now?

3 cups of Glenisk low fat organic natural yoghurt
2 cups of raspberries
2 tbsp of honey
drizzle of balsamic vinegar
1tsp lime juice
Alcohol of your choice - I used Raspberry vodka, peach schnapps and grenadine... Less is more with the alcohol as it won't freeze but a few capfuls to add a fab flavour!

Yeah but how do I...?

Before you start.. put 6 shot glasses in the freezer....

Prepare your raspberries...

Blitz them in your processor...

Fold in the Glenisk Organic Greek Style natural yoghurt...

Add your tipple! *hiccup* a couple of capfuls will do the trick
if you add too much they won't freeze...

you'll just end up with a yoghurt cocktail!

Take the glasses from the freezer and...

coat the inside with grenadine...
put them back in straightaway for 10 minutes...

fill the glasses with the marbled mixture... and freeze for approx 4 hours...

Serve these as an 'amuse bouche' (get me!) or as a party favourite!

Allow them to rest at room temperature till they just slide out..

don't be tempted to run hot water around the sides...

they'll just break up... have some patience people!

You can also set this mixture in individual silicone moulds...

Again, give them 5 mins out of the freezer before you turn them out..

et voila.. rosemantic dessert for two!

and finally...

Blooseberry Popsicles!

I need what now?

1 pot of Glenisk low fat organic greek style yoghurt - Gooseberry
1 pot of Glenisk low fat organic greek style yoghurt - Blueberry
1 cup of blueberries
1 cup of blackberries
2 tbsp of honey
2 tsps of grenadine or sloe gin - totally down to personal taste
2 tsps of blue sugar
I bought mine in Superquinn in the baking section but you can make coloured sugar really easily!  >>> HERE <<<

Yeah but how do I...?

As before... freeze your shot glasses first...

blend the fruit as before... adding your alcohol..

In a separate bowl combine the Glenisk Gooseberry...

AND Glenisk Blueberry Low fat organic Greek Style Yoghurt...

I know... I know... it shouldn't work but it does...

add your honey to sweeten...

coat the inside top with grenadine or gin and the blue sugar...

Then spoon in your yoghurt mixture,
and gently layer your berry mixture on top...

Freeze until set, approx 4 hours and serve...

It takes approx 10mins at room temperature to loosen the popsicles from the glasses

Again... don't try to rush it by running them under a warm tap,
the consistency means they'll just break up..

be patient.. they're SOOOOOOO worth the wait!

Enjoy ...
