8A Brasserie - Brunch Club

No. 5 in the quest for the perfick brunch!  8A brasserie in Monkstown was a bit of fluke find if I'm honest... This would be halfway between my house and Dun Laoghaire pier for walkies.. it's also right beside the Avoca Food Market where you just walk in and breathe in the healthiness!

8A Brasserie is lovely ... it's quiet in a good way, as in set off the road so if you sit outside you don't feel like you might get mowed down! Some places push the 'pathway' boundaries for a few seats outside... this is spot on... the decor is simple and elegant... after the length of the pier, we were ravinous... and we weren't disappointed!

The menu is simple but varied... from the classic eggs benedict to duck with pecan salad it's got that 'try something new' feel to it... there's no 'full irish' but I think that's what makes it even better...

The colour palette inside just feels 'cool'
and very relaxing and not in a hipster kinda way...

The seating area outside is a little sun trap!

For the caffeine junkies... the coffee was lush...
there was no drinks menu but from the other diners I could see juices & teas aplenty...

I ordered the Eggs benedict... they're kind of my benchmark for brunch now... the bacon was just cripsy and the eggs poached perfectly... just enough spinach so the muffin wasn't all soggy... it was SO filling after my walk ... it hit the spot perfectly...  Plus I can't go into Avoca hungry or I'd need a trailer for the car!

'D' ordered Pork belly hash, tournafulla pudding, tomato, spinach, fried egg and pork belly! A winner as the plate was licked clean!

I felt a close up was needed of the 'perfick' poached egg... *drools*

The loos were spotless and the fancy Molton Brown soap and hand cream are a lovely touch... Plus, on the way upstairs to the loo you get a peek at the tables upstairs... and out the back... it's laid out perfectly for a large group/birthday party/communion type thing ... without wrecking other diners heads ... with the area downstairs opening out onto a little garden area...

There's loads of parking on the main road outside, and it's free on a Sunday... Saturday it's free only on the Church side so watch out for that... Highly recommend it for a pit stop... and a nice stroll up from the Dart if you're heading out that way over the summer ...

They also served ice cream cones which I didn't indulge in... this time... Definitely one to add to your list... you can check the menus out online >>> HERE <<<
