Two Fifty Square - Brunch Club

A sneaky little find for Brunch Club this week... Two Fifty Square is just beside the swimming pool in Rathmines... and if you're a coffee junkie... I was last week I swear! Then you'll LOVE this little spot!

The brunch menu has the usual suspects, no 'full irish'
but there's a fab list of sandwiches and toasties to choose from!

... as well as cakes and goodies up at the counter to swoon over...

Loads of space and it's got fab natural light pouring in so you can read the paper without a  torch... Does anyone else think some coffee shops are a bit too dark!? Just me... I'll be moaning about the young people next!

Now... for the connoisseurs... Proper coffee... roasted, ground and smelling SO good..

and yes ... it was delicious...

*chants*
... 10 and a half days ... 10 and a half days...
NO! I'm loving my detox I SWEAR!

But it's one of the nicest coffees I'd had in a long time!

All the goodies you need to roast up a fine bag of caffeine goodness!

Now to the food...

I went for the 'eggs which ever way you fancy with avocado on sour dough bread' ... and not being an avocado fan I treated myself to some bacon! WHAT ?! I'd been swimming!

Bacon was crispy but not dry ... in other words perfect...

and they passed my 'melty-egg' test with flying colours!

For the heathens that drink tea... you'll be catered for... but I'll judge you... no... I will...

Up at the counter you're free to drool, swoon and indulge in all kinds of goodies...

The wifi code... you don't need to ask ...
it's what every cafe should have for their customers!

and ta da... open Sundays!

There's an outside space for the smokers/hardy folk! It's November people!

The mural outside by Anna Doran >>>  http://www.annadoranart.com
was too cute not to include!

Coconut water - VitaCoco

OK.. people rave about it... and honestly, the first one I bought I wanted my money back... but NOW they've got flavoured ones in the range, I'm starting to like coconut water..

When I first spotted this my brain was thinking ... I should really try these... in case I'm ever stranded on an island in the tropics... it happened to Tom Hanks didn't it!!!

There's 4 flavours to choose from... the plain one, for me, is still a no... but the orange flavoured one and peach & mango version are actually really nice... and top tip... these are great for hangovers was they super hydrate you... also for the runners amongst you MUCH better than luzcozade or fizzy stuff pares run they tell me!

They're all 2PP for the 330ml cartons...

My fav of the bunch!

Romancing the Frog!

I don't do many 'Mani-Monday' posts but this little gift set from O.P.I is one to add to the Christmas Stocking filler list! I got mine in TK MAXX for €8

The blue - 'Miss Piggys Big Number' is one of the prettier blues I've come across recently!
I've applied 3 coats over a base and it kinda 'pops'

The silver glitter - 'Muppets World Tour' is FAB!
Very fine sparkles, the pic does it NO justice at all!
Its almost like you've got frosted tips!

Be kind...

Be kind... everyone struggles... everyone has problems... everyone is just trying to live their life on this little planet as best they can... trying to be happy and get on with things... So many people get up in the morning and put on a smile when they're hurting inside...

Everyone has a bad day or a bad week... and that's when they need your kindness even more... those are the days when you can make someone feel like the struggle isn't so bad and that it will get better...

Be less quick to judge... don't deliberately hurt someone because they don't agree with you... they're going through things you might not understand... be a good friend to someone today... no, be a better friend... if you know someone is struggling, a smile, a cup of tea or a kind word might be all it takes to help them get through the day...

Just be kind... it costs nothing...

THAT Christmas Dress

by Vicki O'Mahony
AKA Happy Bubble Gal

I’ve been on this weight loss wagon for what feels like my whole adult life but realistically the last 6 years, which is a very long time, sometimes I’m holding onto the back of the wagon with my finger nails and other times I have been driving said wagon and wearing a smug smile!!

Now I know that certain times of year tend to spark people to “get on the wagon” be it a family wedding, birthday, holidays, new years resolution or Christmas. Yip I think I’m safe to use the “C” word, its November after all (*whispers* 6 weeks to go*)

And I’m no different to everyone else, with the last few pounds of my holiday weight gain still hanging around, the thought of Christmas and all the lovely pretty sparkly things that I will want/have to buy is looming.

Now Christmas comes every year and is never a surprise, I’m pretty organised for Christmas in lotsa other ways, **kicks Christmas jumper under the chair and hides wrapping paper and bows** except for with my weight, as another Christmas approaches I’m thinking back over the last few years...

Every New Years I promise myself that this is my year and I will shift the pounds and face Christmas feeling fab and slim in an AMAZING dress that will give everyone a serious case of the **wants**

This has yet to happen for me! Now don’t get me wrong, I weigh less and look better now than I did 6 years ago, but I’m still not happy and where I want to be, and when Christmas rolls around I break out in a little sweat as the thoughts and promises I made to myself have not come through.. yet again!!!

Verette’s post from a few weeks ago really struck a cord with me and has stayed with me. It was her “before the weight loss story” I was reading it and nodding along knowingly, I’m a complete an other Christmas Nut, ask anyone, they’ll verify this.

However, I have turned down many an invite out because I had nothing to wear, my one dress that I did have was a little snug, I thought I’d be the largest person in the room and everyone would stare!! These were all of my excuses for not dealing with my issues and my weight and I’m sad for me, that I missed out on all those probably amazing nights out because I felt like I couldn't “put myself out there”.

So I decided that I had to be the one to make the changes, I had to be the one to try a little harder, its me after all that wants to wear sparkly numbers out at Christmas and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, rather than supping my drink in the corner and wishing I was anywhere but there feeling huge and uncomfortable!!!

I wouldn't wish these thoughts or feelings on anyone, I really wouldn't but its an awful way to feel about yourself… you wouldn't speak to anyone else the way that you speak to yourself would you?

6 years on, I’m still struggling weight wise, but I’m refusing to give up on myself, I know I can do this and I know I will do it. This year anyone that invites me to a Christmas party had better be prepared for me to be turning up, in a lovely dress (and Santa hat.)

This year I’ve decided that I’m not putting myself in the corner and waiting until I’m at goal to go out and enjoy my Christmas.

I’ve started my window shopping for my Sparkly gorgeous Christmas dress and I plan to be out and about to show it off. Who’s with me?

Vicki x

and to REALLY get you in the mood....
Vicki has picked Shakin' Stevens for her Christmas song!!! I KNOW!!!

Chart below... well done everyone... I've done a bit of housekeeping... it's more motivating to see your name beside someone else who's losing and it makes it faster for me to get it done with weighs-ins coming from all directions! The chart was done last Wednesday as I'm away, I'll update it over the weekend, and so far there has been a total weight loss of 236lbs / 16st 12lbs!!! I KNOW!!! Let me know if I've missed anyone out...  Christmas is coming people... all aboard the wagon?! Lets do it!

Let the festivities begin...

Yup... I thought I'd make it a little be festive around here... The first decoration is officially up and I had to share it... HOW cute though, seriously!?!

'Make Your Own Christmas Banners' out of felt and ribbon...
so easy and fun for kids to make without needing a degree in crafting ...

You can get them in Dealz for €1.49 so a bargain too... great little stocking filler for the 'crafty types' in your family or feck it give your desk a mini makeover!

Sober Supper Club

Slight change of course for Brunch Club BUT it's all for a a good cause...

Sober Supper Club in Sober Lane in D4, every Wednesday for the month of Movember, is donating all it's taking to the marvellous moustache cause! So NO excuse if you're in the area not to pop in and don a 'tashce for the craic and get fed for a good cause...

3 courses for €20! I mean seriously... bargain or wha?!?

The fun stuff... you get games, markers, pencils... fake tattoos...
it's just a bit of a giggle whilst you have your dinner in a pretty cool spot!
If there's a gang of you ALL the better!

It's all about having a bit of craic and channelling your inner child who
always wanted to write on the walls! LOL

Photographic proof that I sometimes win at board games! woo hoo!

AND lollies!

It's the kinda place that would be perfect for a first date...
not too 'rose-mantic' plenty of excellent music ...
so if it goes horribly wrong it's attached to an excellent pub!

I heard Carribean Queen on the way back from the loo and nearly busted a move...

teeny tiny 'tasche tattoos... too CUTE!!!

Well hung beef... tee hee....

But enough about the awesome decor, just know that it's quirky and cool...
now to the food...

Feta Salad... great portion... lovely dressing
and if you're a rocket fan *raises paw* you'll lick the plate clean!

The steak? Perfick... and remember €20!

A good portion of skinny chips ...

And the icing on the steak... their own steak sauce...
not too fiery and a little fruity... DELICIOUS!

Dessert was homemade banoffee sundae ... now I'm not a big dessert fan ...

But CLEARLY I tried my best... It was super! Plates licked clean!

That. Is. All!
