Flavoured pasta from The Foodie Market!

Spotted these in my local Aldi... I'm all for mixing things up when it comes to pasta... I get a bit bored with the wholegrain stuff sometimes so when I spotted these I thought I'd give them a go... SmartPoints are for 180g serving of cooked pasta on the pack... 180g cooked = 100g uncooked, so I've done the SPs for both... Also half a portion if you're like me and trying to cut the barbs out and bulk up the veggies! Anyone tried them? x

The Foodie Market - Red Lentil & Beetroot Fusilli
180g cooked =100g uncooked - 8SP
90g cooked = 50g uncooked - 4SP

The Foodie Market - Green Pea Penne

90g cooked = 50g uncooked - 4SP

90g cooked = 50g uncooked - 5SP

Chef Tomato ketchup...

I know a few eye roll at these kinda posts but if you're watching your sugar intake or the amount of salt in your diet, it's kinda handy to know there's brands out there who have different versions of products you like! I'm a huge Chef Tomato Sauce, I'd go as far as to say a Chef Sauce Snob! So when I spot these I buy them to have in the cupboard... SmartPoints wise you're not going yo break the back with either ... Anyone else a fan? Can we start a Club? x

AND made in Ireland and you all know how I love to shop local!

Chef 50% less sugar & 25% less salt Tomato Ketchup

Fruit-tella 30% less sugar...

OK so I worked out the full sugar versions of both of these and the 30% less sugar isn't that great of a saving to me, and that's purely because I'd give these away with my mother for a bag of cheese and onion crisps! The marketing spin is these are they're 30% less sugar, so you're tempted to pick them over the full sugar version thinking they're better for you and they would be... but there's 15g worth of sweets less in these too... Just a thought... x

Fruit-tella 30% less sugar Strawberry flavour sweets
per 120g bag - 20SP

The full sugar version is 25SP for 120g
but the bag you buy is 135g and 28SP...

Fruit-tella 30% less sugar Summer Fruits flavour sweets
per 120g bag - 20SP

Again the full sugar version is 25SP for 120g
but the bag you buy is 135g and 28SP...

Fitzgerald Pizza Bases...

A new addition to the Fitzgerald's Family Bakery... Skinny Italian Pizza Bases...
I'm a big fan of their bagels and I use their wraps as my pizza bases now so I'm gonna give these a try! Lash on some passata, all the zero SP veggies you love, bacon medallions, chicken breast garlic, herbs, chilli flakes, whatever you fancy and you'd have a very low SP pizza that you don't have to share with anyone! Anyone tried them yet?

Never eat...

... on two feet!

Aren't we all SO busy? Aren't we all in a rush to get to the next step on the ladder of life? One of the top tips my leader tells us regularly is put your knife and fork down when your eating... Digest your food & remember your meal is just as important as everyone else's!

How many of us eat our toast at the toaster whilst the kettle is boiling? How many of us grab a sandwich on the go? How many of us munch the first thing we can get our paws on in the car? It's bad for our digestion, it's bad for our brain space and very often, anything eaten on the hop never finds its way onto a tracker! Grabbing something that's not on the plan tells our brain that our bodies just aren't worth nourishing properly!

'This will do' ... really won't!

So take out the fancy plates, and get your toastie on it! What or who are you saving them for? You're worthy of using your best and favourite things in your own home, so get the fancy schmancy wine glasses out and fill it up with your water, pull up a seat and enjoy your food! You're worth it!
