Dealz nailz! - Mani-Monday!

Dealz new range MAKE UP Gallery - Time to Shine Polish is very pretty!
Especially the sparkly oneI got! WIN! For €1.49!? Total Bargain...

The uneven coverage is glue on my nails, this was a speedy job!
The polish drys very smoothly...
This is two coats of 'Purple Rain'...

With another 2 coats 'Pink Diamond' on the signature nail...

My pics don't do the sparkles justice...
Dear Santa, Please can I have a new camera... ta.. x

OH and they also have this little beauty...
nail and cuticle cream that smells DELISH!
kinda like sherbet...

Only been using it a week so time will tell
but for the price it's definitely one for the desk drawer/glove box!
Fab stocking fillers too!

Romancing the Frog!

I don't do many 'Mani-Monday' posts but this little gift set from O.P.I is one to add to the Christmas Stocking filler list! I got mine in TK MAXX for €8

The blue - 'Miss Piggys Big Number' is one of the prettier blues I've come across recently!
I've applied 3 coats over a base and it kinda 'pops'

The silver glitter - 'Muppets World Tour' is FAB!
Very fine sparkles, the pic does it NO justice at all!
Its almost like you've got frosted tips!

Brunch... Mani Monday

Keeping with the ice-cream theme of late... BRUNCH! A oldie but a goodie.. 6PP for the foodies...

Dotting tool is clearly back on the scene...

From the left...
Essie in 'Style HUnter'
Barry M in 'Caramel'
Rimmel London Salon Pro in 'Isn't She Precious'

Easy to do because the dots are pretty random, so you can just wing it like me!

Happy Bank Holiday xxx

Twister... #ManicureMonday

Yup... summers here... so I've added a 'twist' (geddit?!?! Twist?! Twister?! sigh...) to this weeks Mani-Monday!

The gorgeous lime green is Essence Colour & Go in L.O.L., you can get it in Pennys/Primark, Dunnes and lots of pharmacies...

The white is 'SPILLED MILK' from Top Shop...

The stripes were done with Kiss Nail Art Brush in White... I got this in a Christmas 'nail art' kit and I've used it LOADS!

The 'Twister' decal is from Nail Doodles, you'll find them on Etsy >>> HERE <<<

Altogether now... 'C'mon lets twist again... like we did last summer...'
I'll stop now... ;)

Lola... la la la la loooolaaaaaa - Mani-Monday

This weeks Mani-Monday is one of the nicest coral polishes out there at the moment in my opinion... Lola polishes can be purchased in M&S and this one is called Prom Queen (you know I bought it for the name don't ya...) It's SO pretty... the pics don't do it real justice! Its peachy pink, its the kind of polish you really have to look at twice and wonder 'Is it pink or peach?', although it looks darker in the bottle but two coats and your set...

It has a slightly narrow brush so I got four strokes per nail, but with very good coverage... to add a bit of sparkle... a light brush of Maybelline Brocade in Knitted Gold which has a 'rose' gold kinda look to it... (left over from the Xmas bling!)

Ta da!  I think its the perfect summer colour... a bit on the pricey side at €9, but well worth it as a treat!

Hot... Hot... Hot... Mani-Monday

Hot Hot Hot!!

Whilst the paws are still tanned... It's time to use some of the lovely bright colours out at the moment! I'm too old to carry off a full set of neon nails!

But I couldn't decide which of these beauties from L.A. Colors - Color Craze range so I used them all!! The base is Wet n Wild - French White Creme with a double helping of Revlon Ultra shine top coat! And ta da!!! Polka dots!

Pink - Pink Bubbles
Yellow - Shock
Orange - Spat

Now you don't need a fancy dotting tool, they're really cheap on EBay if you fancy doing it regularly  .. A champagne cork with a fancy pearl pin - you know the ones you get on fancy shirts and you're good to go... Wine corks aren't easy to hold and control...  PLUS you get to drink the champers! Win-Win!

With a cherry on top! - Manicure Monday

Since it's proper summer time n' all... manicures are getting a bit more fruity!

This week... it's Models Own in Red Alert which is, what I'd call a 'HOT' red! Fire engine stuff! It's very bright and I've had lots of people ask me what polish it is!

The cherry decal is from Ebay... there's lots of different sites with all kinds of decals to choose from and most of them do a set price on delivery if you're buying a few... I tend to use one or two at a time so they last you...

They're very easy to put on too... a little bowl of water... a tweezers .. and a good top coat... ta da! Simples!

Kick ball... Manicure Monday

Firstly ... it's not really the REAL world cup... Kick ball mania is ongoing... being a Rugby gal I'm dodging most of it...  except the Aussie games and I don't really want to talk about that either ... but if there's a bandwagon.. you know I'm on it!

So for a bit of fun... Brazilian World Cup nails... ta da...
Renaldo or whaddevaaa his name is would be proud of me huh?!?!

I used Revlon Parfumerie in 'Lime basil' (very handy for Paddys day/Irish type get ups and for tanned toes!) ... Kelly Brook - Sunshine Yellow (available in New Look at the moment) ... Essence 'The boy next door' (found in Pennys/Dunnes/pharmacies)... with some Top Shop 'Spilled Milk' for the little stars...

It's all good practice for next year when the REAL boys will be playing!!! *runs away*

Happy footie to the soccer fans...

How does she do it?! Mani-Monday

My name's Doll and I'm a nail varnish junkie' ... there's bound to be a meeting for people like me soon... I KNOW I'm not alone!

Based in Sydney...I'm pretty sure they'll be a branch near you!

I've had a lot of requests asking 'WHAT do you do with your nails?' So here's the stuff I currently use at the moment... I've been using Bio Oil on my nails too and its AMAZING! But I think the pics will tell the story better ...

My 4 way buffer nail file is a life saver! I find the ones in Pennys are useless and wear out too quickly... M&S do their own brand for a few euro.. best I've found out there so far...

Cuticle oil... I was a non believer until I tried it myself... no hang nails.. stronger nail bed... and there's loads of different types out there with fab scents.. I got this... 'Carribean Nights'... dontchyaknow, at the Beauty Show in the RDS ... I've been using this when I paint my nails and Bio Oil before bed or at my desk...

Essence do a fantastic nail care range... I use their rosewood sticks for sorting our my cuticles and for cleaning up the edges... if I'm watching telly and painting my nails I tend to go 'outside the lines'... so to speak! One pack will last you ages...

15 seconds to sorting out your cuticles with this bad boy... again you can pick it up in Pennys, Dunnes and most pharmacies...

A good hand cream is worth the investment! At the moment I'm using Endless Glove from Soap & Glory... it's yummy! I've even invested in the 'Holly Golightly' white gloves for bedtime with a good dollop of this on... mind you every morning I find the gloves on the floor or at the bottom of the duvet!!!

Cutex Nourishing nail polish remover... don't just pick up the first one you see... removers are very drying and can make your nails worse over time so if you have weak nails.. seek out the best remover.. (preaching over!)

This is for the 'Feck I forgot to paint my nails' moment... paint... spray... 1 minute you're pretty much good to go... don't ask me how it works, it's a science thingy but it does... I got this in McCabes Pharmacy...

'If you don't want your nails to stain... you need a base coat...'  we've all heard it... we don't all do it.. but I'm using the Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat and slowly but surely my nails are returning to their natural colour... who knew?!?

Best top coat I've found is the Rimmel Finishing Touch Ultra Shine Top coat... This takes a few minutes to dry (unless you use the 'nail dry' spray).. but if you have time it really gives your nails a lovely glossy finish and will help with the 'chipping'...

It takes a bit of time but my nails were in bits before I started this routine... now they're stronger and in much better condition... set yourself up when your fav programme is on and make a date with yourself each week to keep it up (I'm currently doing my to the Great Irish Bake Off.. stops me going to the kitchen for cake! I rarely use stick on nails as the glue can set me back a stage or two but some of them are SO cute I can't help myself... I love wraps but they can be pricey so I tend to use one of two out of each sheet and mix it up with plain polish... makes them different every time and no one else is gonna have the same manicure!

Shellac, like stick ons aren't for me either, plus I like to change my colours all the time... keeps my fingers out of the crisp packets!

'Saved by the Blue' - Mani Monday!

Not your usual pic for Manicure Monday but don't deny it didn't catch your attention!!!

If anyone has seen my nail polish shelves... >>> HERE <<< you can see there's a LOT of blue there... Navys and blue are pretty much my standard colours in winter, with the occasional black thrown in for good measure bringing me back to my dodgy goth days...

But anyone who follows me on twitter or knows me in real life will tell you I'm a huge Leinster rugby fan... bless me... and this weekend was the last (no really!!!) game of the season for the RaboPro12 Final Championship against the Glasgow warriors! We won...YAY! Now for most of the big matches I don the blue cause its Thursday nights and what else am I doing if not studying... I even throw on a bit of nail art if I'm in the mood... so for this last game, before I head back to all the lovely pastel shades that are about for the summer, I picked up 'Saved by the Blue' from Wet'n'Wild!

Firstly these polishes are cheap as chips.. you can get them in Dunnes when you're buying your veggies! Bonus!

Wet'n'Wild 'Fast dry' ... doesn't dry in the '60 seconds' that rimmel claims to either... neither dry in under a minute.. yes the first coat will dry in 60 seconds but you definitely need a second... if you don't want any chips, you'll need a top coat with it.. so it's a paint job that's dry in about 5 mins tops.. which is still pretty fast...

My signature nail is 'Bobby Dazzler' from Butter London and it's just a fab polish... a great colour for the summer... it's neutral enough to almost be a 'nude' colour with a very pretty sheen... I picked it up in TK Maxx for a bargain €6... (the Carrickmines branch had LOADS for anyone local!) but I'd pay the full price considering the quality and the fact this will be on my toes all summer!

What?! I'm showing you the polish I swear!!! Things I do for this blog...

The colours in this range are very vibrant... with all the TV classics popping up in the names... 'SaGreena the Teenage Witch' anyone? no... really! 'Sage in the City?', 'Teal of Fortune?', 'Blue Want To Be A Millionaire'? I won't go on but you get the idea... the pigment is electric and although the brushes aren't as good the 'Essence On the Go' polishes.. for the money they're totally worth it!

A slightly tipsy but happy fan!!!

The war paint has faded and the season is over! A summer break and the new season will be here before we know it... AND the world cup is next year, I'm going to be a right pain!  I'll need to perfect my 'Wallabies' manicures by then!
