Cocoa Brown Bronzing Gels

OK there's not many beauty products on here even though I could open my own branch of Boots with all the skincare and make up I have but here's a new product that I've kinda fallen for... New from Cocoa Brown range are two bronzing gels, a shimmer and a matte version...

Now I'm not a regular 'Tanning Thursday' kinda gal... I'm a 'feck it I've decided to wear the shorter dress and my legs look two bars of white chocolate the Milky bar kid would be proud of!' then blind panic ensues... so for years I've tried many of the tans out there and honestly there is nothing more scary than a women with a tanning gun... now I know that's just me and my body hang ups but I've tried everything, remember the tanning machine in friends.. one Mississippi two Mississippi.. been there smelt like a toasted tuc biscuit for days... and as much as I love the moisturisers that slowly build up in colour, forget it once or twice after your shower and you're back to square one... I want some thing that I can put on easily, it will stay on my legs if its raining, the illusion of stripy 'runny' tights is NOT a good look, and something that in the morning I can wash off and go back to my normal life with my sallow skinned brown arms and blindingly pasty white legs... et voila here it is!

Lots of you reading this are always looking for ways to feel better about your body and a tan definitely helps, a pina colada and a pool boy would make it even better but this is only 6.99! If you're like me and crap at putting the stuff on, I don't just mean on me either, there's a friend who might be reading this who may remember my tan application as being a bit 'heavy'...  lets just say she started out caucasian... but this stuff is fool proof!

I mean seriously... LOOK at the shimmer...
this is going to be FANTASTIC for wearing with your LBD for Christmas
and honestly you do sparkle a little bit more when you're wearing it!

and this is the one you want for your pins! It's SO easy to apply and smells lush!
I'm totally converted!

TRESemmé Styling tips...

Last week I went along to the TRESemmé styling session in the Morrison and honestly I got some great hair tips to share... My hair fine and has 'the frizz' most of the year and in this weather, humidity, yes even in this damn miserable weather, my hair plays up, remember Monica in Friends "IT'S THE HUMIDITY!" ... I also have the most static hair in the country, ever... so I needed some advice..

Daniel Lynes from TRESemmé was there to give a VIP Styling session...
and all questions were answered!

Everyone got a new 'do' and the stylists from
The Powder Room Girls and Rachel Cleary Hair & Beauty
were giving out great tips ...

So for my barnet... volumising dry shampoo... that is the way forward...
because its so fine, and I swim I should use this between washes to keep some lift in the roots...

Very pretty cocktails and nibbles to keep the energy levels up...

this beauty lark is tiring ya know...

So, top tips from Daniel ...

Use heat to make the most of your styling products... if you put volumising mousse in your hair, use heat to get the best result! Common sense but it really does work... I'll put my paws up and admit I regularly chuck in some mousse, leave it to dry and then wonder why it gets all heavy and sticky... doh!

And USE the heat in your hair to give you volume... add your product... style it with pin curls or rollers.. let it cool down in place before you uncurl your locks, it'll last longer!

For static in your hair... use a hydrating shampoo... and a leave-in light conditioner... turn down the fan in the car (who knew?!!) and use hairspray... just a little between your hands and just smooth over your hair will sort it out.. and you know what... it has.. I tried it over the weekend and my hair behaved!

Now, can we all see the 'humidity resistance' on that pretty can of hairspray???
No more 'MONICA' for me I tell you!

AND can we just focus in on the 48 HOURS FRIZZ CONTROL!
I'll be back with a review on this in the next couple of weeks!
Frizz be gone!

The Inglot team were there to add the finishing touches ...

and the lovely Valerie from Dublin Nails did my manicure...

#TRESformation indeed, everyone left looking and feeling luffly!
Now to get washing the frizz away!

and thanks to the fab gals in Evoke for a great event!

Bioderma comes to Ireland!

It's HERE!!! Bioderma will be on the shelves next week in pharmacy all over... No more begging family to smuggle it in from France! The mention of a ski trip used to get me downloading images and shouting at the departures gate 'JUST SHOW THE LADY IN THE PHARMACY THE PICTURE!'

Last week I was lucky enough to be at the Irish launch of Bioderma so I'm sharing the love, the science and the low down! Some beauty experts were there to give advice and tips!

Bioderma is based on skin science so it's a 'does what is says on the tin' brand...
There are four ranges coming to Ireland...

The blue range is - Atoderm which is for dry to very dry skin and atopic skin... there is a 200ml tube and 500ml pump bottle Atoderm cream in this range which relieves discomfort and soothes itching... well worth a look if you suffer from very dry irritated skin... super hydrating too...

Sensibio is the pink range... for sensitive skin.. the hero product is from this range...  Bioderma Micellar water... cult product to be honest... this range is for the sensitive types so it nourishes and protects as well as soothes irritated skin..

The green range is called Sébium for combination to oily and acne-prone skin... soap free cleansers good for blackheads and purifying creams for severe blemishes..

and finally, the orange range which is Photoderm, their sun care range... SPF all the way here, nothing lower than SPF 30 in the range with the Photoderm Bronz being the hero product for me...

So a bit about my favs....

Micellar water is everywhere now, even Nivea, my favourite skincare brand have brought out a 'sensitive' version which is on the shopping list! But every 3 secs on this little planet.. someone buys a bottle of Bioderma micellar cleanser! It's THAT good... so what's micellar water when you're at home Miss Doll?! Here's the science bit ...

Micelles are molecules that are made of fatty-acid esters... when you use it on a cleansing pad they 'deploy' like spies onto your skin... and because of their composition, it makes them brilliant at trapping make up, dust and pollution... off your mug and onto the cotton pad! See I learnt something!

Best thing is you don't need water so it's a time saver, especially when you're falling into bed and need to take your make up off! NO on like to wake up to the panda imprint on the pillow! It's great for travelling too and there's a 100ml bottle coming to town! It feels SO refreshing, your skin feels so fresh and clean! Plus it's fragrance free...  The RRP in pharmacies is 100ml travel bottle - €5.50 • 250ml bottle - €11.50

In the same range is the Anti-redness BB cream! If you suffer from rosacea then you'll love this... with the weather in this country, you can go from being out in the frosty morning, waltzing into a hot office and back out into wind and rain and this is in May! So if you're like me you'll have that 'rosy cheek' nightmare going on... This BB cream evens out the tones in your skin and hydrates it and I'm finding that a little goes a long way... AND it's got SPF 30! I KNOW! 40m bottle - RRP €17.50

My final fav... the Photoderm Bronz... I'm ALL about the SPF in things.. I mean... tangent - WHY does only one flavour of the EOS lip balms have an SPF?!?!?! I KNOW! But this stuff is LUSH! SPF 50 (FIFTY!) it sprays on like an oil and absorbs into your skin not one bit greasy.. SPF 50!!! AND it's water resistant! It even recommends that you can spray in your hair whilst you're lounging poolside!  I know we don't have the summer heatwave yet but everyone should be wearing SPF products, just for peace of mind, probably my upbringing but 99% of everything I buy is SPF and I get all shouty when products I love don't have any... I couldn't recommend this enough! 200ml bottle - €22.00 again a little seems to go a long way.... but it's like having a body oil with all the SPF protection...

Photoderm max SPF 50+ is for the fair skinned freckled faces amongst us... anti-shine, fragrance free maximum protection from the sun.. 40ml bottle - €13.00

There's also a selection of Photoderm tinted sun creams all SPF 50+ to check out...

oh and there were nibbles but I was good! I promise!

Into the West Bloggers Network!

Last weekend I went to the 'Into The West Bloggers Network' first birthday bash! You know I nearly didn't go... I always feel like I shouldn't be at these gigs sometimes but I'm pushing my boundaries and 'manning up' as they say! Firstly the G hotel in Galway is pretty fabliss!!! Pink all over the shop, so I'm right at home... Perfect spot to check out if you're over the west!

After checking in with the fab Sinéad & Saibh, who run ITWBN, it was off to find my table which was aptly named 'Croagh Patrick'... now anyone who has been on here for a while knows of my fav guest blogger John Quinlivan '19st to 10k'... (BTW my fav guest post >>> HERE <<<) A post that has stuck clearly in my mind and I regularly read is of his trip up (well halfway up) Croagh Patrick... I felt every word of that post and still do, but his transformation is one that I tell all my men followers to check out... and many have taken up running and joined weight watchers or slimming world because of him... Tangent - my men folk readers don't comment on here, but I can't tell you how many emails I get asking how many ProPoints in Heineken and the chipper! So imagine my surprise, whilst I'm sitting quietly at my table not to annoy the beauty bloggers, when who should walk in...

I know!!! Total fangirling... gob smacked I was and that's a rare thing! It was awesome! If you haven't read his story skip over and be inspired  >>> HERE <<<  Running marathons now! I was so chuffed to finally meet him!

One of the key speakers was
Sinéad Burke, Image Awards Blogger of the year... if you don't read her blog, check it out... she is amazing! Captivated the whole room with her story why she started blogging... a very funny lady with all the sass to boot! You'll find her >>> HERE <<<

Hanging with the cool kids eh?! Darren from Joe.ie, Sinéad and John all clearly on a ITWBN cupcake sugar buzz!

There was cake and fancy nibbles and a cocktail to kick us off! Interesting speakers and lots of brands to interact with... Massive congrats to the girls for a wonderful event, all your hard showed!

I'm still going through the goodie bag! Sign me up for the next one ladies!
