What's stopping you? - Week 4

I know its the Halloween post so you'd be expecting how many Propoints in a mini crunchie but you guys know all this stuff (3 by the way!) ... but this weeks meeting was a bit of an eye opener so to speak.. I wanted to share ...

You've re-joined... its not the first time... and you're hoping this will be the last... what's stopping you?  what's holding you back? My leader spent 15 years losing 5 stone.. the same 5 stone over and over and over... she joined with sisters, pals, neighbours, work colleagues... and whilst they all lost, got gold cards, silver sevens and stones, she was yo-yoing up and down.. and always just gave up? So why did she always stop? What held her back? Didn't she want it enough?

This week she told us her story... and even though I've heard it before... she tells it with such honesty and you're nodding your head because she's actually talking about YOU!

A family party invite would arrive... and panic would set in.. what will she wear? Everyone will be staring at her... She won't enjoy it because she's not going to be comfortable... so she would send her husband, who would return with stories of how much fun it was and what a fab night she missed out on.. all the while she had consoled herself with a bottle of wine and a curry keeping her company... and all the excuses were used... can't get a babysitter, kids need a lift here there and everywhere ... She'll definitely come the next time... and a few hours after the wine buzz had gone and that over stuffed, bloated feeling from the chinese was still there.. she would start to feel crap.. guilty for letting herself down.. foolish that she just didn't get dolled up and enjoy herself... everyone had missed her.. but she let her weight rule her life... Finally she realised she had to put herself first.. and once she realised that if she wasn't at her best.. then she couldn't give her best... something clicked! She was so busy taking care of everyone else... she was last on the list..



I've had that moment.. but every now and then you get that week when you just can't find your groove... This week I'm down another half pound and I'm not going to whinge about it.. its down.. and some many things have improved so far with my weight loss... my health .. a new wardrobe... all round healthiness... look at the bigger picture.. would I really want all that weight back on again? Half a pound .. nice to see you gone!




This week ... remember its not selfish to take care of yourself.. if you neglect yourself.. you're doing a disservice not only to you... but to those you love.. its your responsibility to be as healthy as you can be..  to have the energy to live the best life you can..

Great losses Dolls! 101.8lbs so far!!! AMAZING!!! Mr. Q has won the first stone! *applause*

Don't go crazy over the halloween.. have your treat.... use your 49 PP to do it.. and enjoy it.. no need to hoover all the chocolate in the land.. it'll all still be here next week!

  4. No WI for me this week because of the bank holiday. I always hope I'll have a great result when we start back because I have 2 weeks to make the most of but I tend to lose the run of myself and treat it like a holiday. I'm only fooling myself!

  6. Hey doll great post and so true that def clicked with me this time I'm doing it for ME I was down 4 lbs this week bringing me to the first goal WW had set but we decided to lower it a bit so I have 5 lbs to go . Well done to Mr Q great losses all round

  7. Great post! So I was -.5 for week 4 and +2 for week 5 so still -7 overall... after 5 days of boozing and drinking in Amsterdam I don't feel so bad, had an awesome time and wouldn't do anything differently. I had what I would call my first 'I don't hate me holiday' - I'm not horrified by the photos - MAJOR non scale victory :o)

  8. hi so sorry i didnt get to let you know last thurs weigh in results .... bad news up a half pound !!! i had been out to dinner and of course a few beverages so i wasnt surprised !!! dissapointed with myself but so far i havent let it get the better of me onwards and upwards ....will be weighed again on thurs so fingers crossed ....

  10. I gained 1lb this week - well deserved but still not happy to see it. Darn bank holidays ruining everything!! Back on track today and determined to see that pound gone next week!

  12. Last week lost another 2.5lbs. Only .5 lb this week but Im not disheartened by a reduced loss. A loss is a loss and with a 10lb total since re joining, I'm thrilled!! Bit by bit we can all do it!! :D

  13. Just joined your site, and love it. Have done weight watchers a number of times with family and friends, but always give up. Have re-joined WW and first weigh in is Tuesday. What you say about doing something for yourself is so true.....

    1. It only really clicks when you realize .. if I wasn't this heavy i could be even better at living my life! I could be better at my job.. I wouldn't feel so tired.. better with my kids.. etc.. and once you realize you can be a better version of you and everyone benefits.. you know its not selfish at all... keep us posted on how you're doing.. x

  14. Have been following your journey for a while now. Just joined your site, it's fantastic.

    I rejoined WW for the XXX time 9 weeks ago weighing a whopping 24 stone 1 lb.

    Weighed in last Thursday and received my 2nd silver 7 and that all important stone.

    My weight journey seems very slow. 1lb here and there and even though I was extra good this week and got my fat ass off the couch and walked 5 days I was only down 0.5 lb. It's disheartening.

    Any words of wisdom?

    1. Just remember this weight didn't go on over night and take it small steps.. just set yourself a goal of half a stone by christmas.. then once thats gone.. re set the goal.. Like you I have lot still to lose and if I thought about the big number I'd go eat a cake now! just think.. I need to be in the 22st bracket.. once you're there.. move the goal posts.. lots of support to be had too.. if you'd like to email me I'd be happy to chat... one stone already is amazing.. and a dress size to boot.. lets ring in 2013 22st something lbs.. yeah? x

  16. well happy days got my first stone on thurs i lost 2.5 this week so i have lost one stone and half pound ....delighted with myself its a great boost ....
