Lifes too short.. Week 5 & 6!

Ola... firstly... thank you so much for all your wishes, prayers and messages... all greatly appreciated! Our man is off for a quadruple bypass on Thursday and hopefully on the road to recovery after that... talk about drama...

All this time spent in waiting rooms and beside his bed.. made me think how I put my life on hold so many times because of my weight.. so todays blog is about just that.. WHAT is holding me back?!?

I'm always starting sentences with.. 'when I'm thinner...'  like suddenly the world is going to change and life will be SO different.. it won't! it'll be just like it is now only I won't weigh so much! So many people live in the past.. when I was happier.. when I had a job.. when I was with him or her..  well sadly, I live in the future.. I'll be able to go meet this person ... and do this... that.. and the other... I'm constantly on hold for when it all happens.. but last week I realized.. I might never get to goal.. don't get me wrong this isn't a cop out... and I'm slowly making my way there .. all the while life is passing by and I'm in a sort of limbo ...

You've got to led a healthy happy life today! That's about the size of it.. and if your weight is holding you back from living your life to the max (get me and my street lingo!) then enough of the yo-yo dieting.. enough of the feeling miserable.. 'I'll go when I'm a bit thinner'... 'I don't want anyone to see me' .. 'I'll be the biggest person there...' enough I say! Embrace life and be healthy.. sure a chocolate bar won't kill you but we're not over weight from ONE chocolate bar! Look at the bigger picture.. if we eat 21 meals a week and one is a treat (pizza, chips, chicken wings.. ahem.. gin! ) the other 20 should be running our bodies like a well oiled machine.. its like the analogy of how we treat our cars.. we service them.. only put the best we can afford into them... oil, fuel, tyres... yet we dump crap into our bodies and feel sluggish and tired all the time without a second thought... step back this week and look at your tracker.. where could you have made a better decision.. did you really need that Kit Kat? I'm always saying life is to be lived.. but we won't be here for long if we don't take care of our bodies.. we only get one.. so look after it!

This weeks exercise is... try a new cardio! Play a game of tennis with a pal... jog instead of walk.. get the bike out.. swim... hula hoop (the latest hollywood trend I'm told!) skipping rope.... try something different to get your heart rate going and it will appreciate it! If you change things up a bit .. you'll notice the changes in your breathing and heart rate too!

Weigh ins below and I'll post the new chart Thursday!

Except i used to do it with exercise ie when i am thinner i'll go to the gym but i finally bit the bullet at the beginning of the year and went along to a Zumba class and now i love it and do it a few times a week! thanks for the inspo and i hope your man is ok. Xxxx

  3. You are a fantastic inspiration doll. Everything you write just means so much to me and I would imagine all of your followers. Will be thinking of you and your man and hope everything goes as planned with the bypass! You are so right about life being too short. As wonderful as getting to goal will be (we will all get there), we can't put our lives on hold. Make every day count.

Have lost 3lbs the last 2 weeks, 2 this week and one last week :-) xxx

  5. Doll, thanks for all the positive inspiration and practical advice. In the past I always fell off the wagon due to one bad meal or day - ridiculous I know, good for ages and then one bad day resulted in me packing the whole diet in.

    Down 2.75lb in the fortnight.

  6. Great that your man is on the mend Doll, you must have got a real fright.

This week I started back to work after 2 years of maternity leave. I feel great. I'm not at pre pregnancy weight but only half a stone off, so I felt good. Went on shopping spree on Tuesday as I had no work clothes.

I had a small gain this week after my holidays. But I had a lovely holiday with my family and I enjoyed being off the tracking for a while. Should be able to get the gain and more off this week.

  7. Glad things are looking up again, a scare like that certainly puts things into perspective. Still sending prayers your way.

I'm down 3lbs in the last 2 weeks. My skipping rope is due to be finished hibernating soon so I'll give that a whirl :) I can't hula hoop anymore, I tried not so long ago and I was useless! I was great as a kid so I don't understand what happened because I've definitely got the hips for it now!!

    1. Do you lose the ability to hula hoop as you get older - I bought a hula hoop recently and I couldn't do it at all. I was rubbish.

    2. It looks like it! Now I didn't exactly try very hard - I picked it up expecting to be able to show my niece how it was done and when that didn't happen I abandoned it! I assume practice makes perfect though?

    3. Seriously what is it with hula hoops??? Now I have to ass to hold it up I can't swizz it about?!?! Life is cruel! I bought some in the pound shop recently for a project i was working on .. and I spend an entire afternoon cursing at myself trying to do it! LOL ... Good loss Jen! 3 lbs over two weeks is brill! x

  10. I'm not down anything this week but I'm not up (PHEW!) - you're dead right, had a little blow-out one of the days and felt horrendous, but in the grand scheme of things that one blow-out isn't going to make me put on all the weight I've lost. Glad to hear that things are improving and all the best for this week x

  13. Hey doll, I started back at ww 2 week's ago, after falling back into old habits. I had lost 3 stone a few years back, a little too much to be honest, and have put two back on. So, my first goal is 8 lbs and I lost 2 in my first week. I stumbled upon this when trying to find pp values for a takeaway, and it's been a constant help! Such a great idea, and amazing support. X
