YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! Week 4




If I counted the number of times I criticised myself in a day, I'd have to borrow at least 5 other peoples fingers and toes! No matter how many compliments and positive comments I get about my weight loss to date from my family and friends ... I still judge and criticise myself so badly! This week has been a blue one.. no particular reason... just one of those weeks... and to boot I'm up 1.5lbs too.. and I know why.. I had a great bank holiday weekend.. and the weather had me hitting the couch with the munchies instead of getting out and about, and filling out my tracker!

Today I was tweeting with a girl who is an inspiration! I've never met her but I read her blog religiously and every time she gives me the virtual slap in the chops that I need to make me realise that life isn't so bad and STOP being a drama queen! She has no idea she does this... this lady is, fingers, toes and knickers crossed coming to the end of her very tough and difficult journey with cancer and still she remains upbeat, funny and probably one of the more noble and humble people I have yet to meet! She's a single mum with an awesome attitude and great with the banter... and I can only imagine a fabulous friend to have... So it's a fun challenge... we're over half way there on this summer challenge and I hope the exercise DVDs were dusted off... Davina and I are friends again, kinda, and I even borrowed the 'Strictly come dancing keep fit DVD' (I said that out loud didn't I!), I'm sure my neighbours think I'm running some sort of early morning dance class with all the pounding on the floor boards! Nothing like a good shimmy to wake you and the neighbours up! How did you all get on?

I digress.. the challenge this week is ... Operation Beautiful... now if you haven't heard of it..  I've put the link below ... it's a week to give yourselves a big hug.. let the inner beauty shine through and remind ourselves how beautiful we are already!

So .. steal a pad of post-its at work.. blame me, I'll take the rap... and post some compliments to YOU! All over the place... and if you're really going to get into it...post them when you're out and about too and make someone elses day! Why not cheer up some work pals to boot! There's no point in shouting at your thighs and hating them so much that you're down in the dumps... yes, we all want to be healthy... and we're all on that journey.. we're dedicated.. we prove that each week we weigh in ... but sometimes we're so hard on ourselves that it makes the journey even tougher and we feel like its just not worth it... that WE are not worth it ... well breaking news... we are! This is a positive journey to a new and healthy version of us! Lets make it a positive week... we can all be moany Marys next week if you want... LOL ...

The mirror in the bathroom... above the kettle... on the fridge... dashboard of the car... inside your wallet... be a little kinder to you and stick up a note.. you're gorgeous... you're stronger than you realise... you're funny.. you're kind... you're generous... you're amazing ... we have fat ... we are not fat! We will lose that fat.. it doesn't and shouldn't define us... there's a lot more to us that fat! I'll be wanting some proof ... so take some pics and I'll put them up next week!   1. Weighed in and ive lost 1.5lbs. Happy is not the word im estatic as i had a big girls night out last wkend with lots of food and drinkies. Think I used all of my weeklies in one go!!! Was super good for the rest of week and it paid off. Love this blog so much . Love the idea of operation beautiful.

    2. 100 minutes of exercise worked up today and I intent to keep this going every day from now until Tuesday. The walk to and from work (1hr in total) each day helps lots!
      I've started to treat myself to an item or two of new clothing on a Thursday if I've had a good week on the scales! Love this weeks challenge, goodness know our bodies deserve to be loved, and in my case that love increases in amount everytime I see a minus sign on the scales of a Tuesday.

  2. Missed my weigh in tonight but for exercise I did Pilates and Zumba classes. Great challenge this week as we find ourselves putting ourselves down instead of giving credit for our efforts that we deserve!

    2. I love Zumba been doing it a few months now. I do it with a company called Dance and Health. The instructor is from Cuba and she's Lets people take the class at their own pace. I would highly recommend it!

  3. I LOVE this challenge - my housemates might think I'm a bit mental so may keep the post its in my room/workspace (my colleagues already know im a bit mental). Also off to Leeds to see one of my very oldest and best friends and I know we will have lots of fun with this! Thanks skinny doll you are fabulous for the motivation!! Have a good week x

  5. Down 2lbs very happy not expected but ill take it. Took out my zumba DVDs and really enjoyed them great fun thanks for the motivation

  6. Stayed the same this week. I'm finding it really hard to get back on the wagon after college. I don't know what's happened me. Hopefully next Monday (after a communion and a birthday party this weekend) I'll get back in gear. Just glad at the moment that I'm not gaining!

  7. Up 1 this week very undeserved I think! Used my weeklies with a meal out but did loads of excercise!!loved the challenge to change it up went for a cycle something I haven't done in years! Did over 6hrs altogether so don't know where the plus1 came from! Going to try really hard this week to not use more than 10 weeklies! Also love the operation beautiful challenge it's a great idea! Halfway through the 30 day shred it's tough going!

    1. its SO not fair when that happens but I'm the queen of losing nothing for two weeks and being miserable then the losses come.. my body is on some sort of time delay! about 10 years! LOL .. great you got back to cycling.. I can't wait to get going on my bike! hold tight it will show... x

  9. I didn't get weighed this week working extra days in work and couldn't make it to Thursday's meeting as I had a work night but I measured myself instead as I'm impatient about waiting 2 weeks to see if there's any difference!
    Iv lost 1/2 an inch on my waist and 3 inches on my hips since last measuring on the 29th march

  11. Down 2lb. I tried to start jogging this week. Downloaded a few apps to help. Wow, but jogging for 1 minute is much harder than it sounds!!

    1. Brilliant! they always make jogging sound like a fun kind of running.. I'm not sold on it yet.. and once I get the all clear on my knee I'll be walking quickly to start with! well done on the 2lbs!!! x

  13. Down 1lb this week. Happy with that, and I'm at the stage in my weight loss journey that I'm starting to feel good about myself again. I'm now lingering at the mirror to see the skinny me. This challenge was a good boost to the soul!!

  14. Lost half pound this week. Was hoping for a little more but c'est la vie :-). For the challenge this wk I accepted all compliments this week with a smile and a thank you instead of dismissing them. Especially people saying I looked like I lost weight, said thanks and that I was working hard:-)

  15. weighed in on tuesday, up 2.5, well deserved though! i was either going drinking or being hungover everyday so i was eating like it was christmas everyday! NOMNOMNOM! Had a great week though :D
